What Meta Business Agent does, from Meta's own pages.
Meta introduced Meta Business Agent on June 3, 2026, at its Conversations event in London, and is expanding it to businesses of all sizes worldwide. Its page for the WhatsApp Business app says it is open to eligible businesses in select markets, with more markets coming. Here is what Meta says it does:
- Answers questions about your business. It learns from your Facebook Page, your past chats, your website, and the catalogs or price lists you upload.
- Recommends products, books appointments, qualifies leads and closes sales, in Meta's own words.
- Replies in your customers' languages, in a tone you set with your own instructions.
- Hands the chat to you on the topics you flag, and whenever you step in.
- Answers the people you choose: everyone, only new customers, or people who come from your ads.
- Lives inside Meta's apps: the WhatsApp Business app, Messenger and Instagram. Larger businesses can build on the Meta Business Agent Platform, which works alongside the WhatsApp Business Platform.
- Sends you a morning briefing of the chats you missed, with insights on your threads. Meta is starting with a select number of businesses.
What Meta charges for it. In the WhatsApp Business app, Meta Business Agent is free each month up to an included allowance. More responses come with Meta One plans for businesses: from $14.99 a month (Essential), then $49.99, $149 and $499 starting prices for more agent responses. Meta says plans, prices and availability vary by region. On the WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta has charged for each agent message since August 1, 2026: $2.00 per million tokens, about 4 to 5 cents a message by Meta's own estimate, with no free messages.

- No follow-ups on WhatsApp. Outside the 24-hour window that opens with each customer message, Meta only allows approved templates. So your closer follows up only in Telegram and email conversations: once, 24 hours later, and never after a clear no.

When Meta's agent is enough
Often. It is free to start, in an app you may already use, so it costs little to find out. It is likely enough if:
- Your customers write to you mostly on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger, with simple questions: hours, prices, availability, where you are.
- You're happy to set it up yourself, teach it and check what it says.
- You don't need your website chat, your email or Telegram answered by the same agent.
- Your budget is tight: up to Meta's monthly allowance, it costs nothing.
When a closer built and run for you fits better
- Each sale deserves a real conversation: the questions that qualify, the answer to “that's more than I planned,” your payment link, then the payment confirmed.
- Your customers also write on your website, by email or on Telegram, and you want one closer with the same prices and rules everywhere.

Can I run Meta Business Agent and Rexor Closer on the same number?
Not on the same conversations. With the setup we use, a number runs either in the WhatsApp Business app, where Meta's agent works for small businesses, or on the WhatsApp Business Platform, where your closer works. On the Platform, Meta gives each conversation a single owner: switch Meta's agent on for a number, and it takes new conversations first while other connected tools wait on standby. Keep one per number, or talk to us before you switch it on.
Is an AI closer allowed on WhatsApp?
Yes. Since January 15, 2026, Meta's terms bar providers of general-purpose AI from offering it as the main product on the WhatsApp Business Platform, except where the law requires Meta to allow it. The same terms let a business work with an AI provider for its own customer conversations, as long as WhatsApp data doesn't train AI models other than one reserved for that business. Your closer sells only your offer, and your conversations never train a shared AI model.
Is Meta Business Agent free?
To start, yes. In the WhatsApp Business app, Meta says it is free each month up to an included allowance, with more responses on Meta One plans from $14.99 a month. On the WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta has charged for each agent message since August 1, 2026: about 4 to 5 cents a message, by Meta's own estimate.
What does WhatsApp cost with Rexor Closer?
Your plan, plus Meta's own fees, which Meta bills to you directly; we add nothing on top. Since October 1, 2026, Meta charges for replies to people who wrote to you after the first 1,000 each month for each number: $0.0034 each for US numbers. If all 3,000 Starter replies go out on WhatsApp to US numbers, that's about $6.80 a month. Without a payment method in Meta's billing, Meta stops delivering those replies once the free 1,000 are used.
